Wes earned his Bachelor of Science degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma while earning “All-Conference” recognition as a member of the men’s golf team. Wes then earned his Master of Education degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and was a distinguished educator for over twenty years. But it was Wes’ passion for golf that inspired him to enter the PGA’s Professional Golf Management Program. In 2005, Wes achieved his goal and was elected to membership in The Professional Golfers’ Association of America. Wes joined the UCO/PGM Program in 2007 and is very excited to begin the next chapter in his career, inspiring young men and women to earn a college degree and PGA membership. Wes gained considerable experience in golf course operations as an assistant professional at a 36-hole public golf course in Oklahoma City and later served at the Head Golf Professional at Wedgewood Golf Club in Conroe, Texas. While serving as the Head Golf Professional and Technical Advisor for Golf Galaxy, as a teaching professional for the Graves Golf Academy and as a Technical Representative for the Callaway Golf Company, Wes has achieved tremendous success in teaching students the necessary skills to lower their golf scores. Wes is the 2008 recipient of the PGA South Central Section Horton Smith Award for his dedication, leadership, and outstanding contributions to The PGA Educational Program. In addition to managing student internships, Wes will be actively involved in teaching specific PGA/PGM courses, academic and career advisement to students, player development, and recruiting.
