UCO Economics Faculty Get Involved

Because college students aren’t the only people who need to know economics, the Department of Economics houses two specialized academic centers designed to help others better understand economics.

sUCO Center for Economic Education: affiliated with the National Council on Economic Education, works with teachers and school districts throughout the state to improve the quantity and quality of economic education in elementary and secondary classrooms. It offers teacher courses and workshops, works with pre-service teachers, consults with school district personnel and community organizations, and develops and distributes economic education curriculum materials.

UCO Policy Institute: The UCO Policy Institute is a university-based think-tank committed to enhancing the policy debate within Oklahoma. Funded by the University of Central Oklahoma,  the Institute aims to be an indispensable tool for the development of effective state and local public policies, by providing policymakers with the results of the latest research on public policies.

As we prepare for the future, the UCO Policy Institute is poised to play a vital role in providing unbiased research information to Oklahoma policymakers. Our role is not to promote an ideology, but to promote facts. Our duty is not to shape politics, but to shape policies. In short...we are here to enhance the policy debate.
