Policy Statement: Degree requirements for any undergraduate option will include all courses required beyond the university admissions standards to complete the degree. This information must be included in all UCO publications that list degree requirements. These would include any publication, list, pamphlet/brochure, etc. published at departmental, college, or university level . Background: Some undergraduate options include courses that students may have completed in high school as electives. The academic department responsible for the major/option may waive those required courses and hours in the major/option for students identified as having previously completed them. As an alternative, students may elect to take advanced standing examinations in order to receive college credit for the course. Purpose: Communicate a common understanding throughout the university to clearly and openly define all courses actually required to complete a degree. Implementation: Fall Semester 2000 Impacts:. Reduce the potential for misleading information.
