Policy Statement: A unit approved for specialized accreditation from a national accrediting body may request the Office of Academic Affairs to use the national accreditation self-study as the program review for those programs that are specifically covered by the national accreditation self-study. Background: National accreditation self-studies are usually more comprehensive than UCO’s program review. Completion of a program review and a self-study as separate processes can be redundant. Purpose: Consolidate and reduce workload related to program self-studies. Implementation Date: Spring Semester 2001 Related Procedures: (1) Requests for substitution will be made to the Office of Academic Affairs through the college dean. (2) If approved, the schedule will be adjusted to match that of the national accrediting body. (3) The unit will submit UCO data and the self-study as the UCO program review. (4) Approved requests will be coordinated by the Office of Academic Affairs with the president’s office and OSRHE. Coordinating Offices: Deans Academic Affairs Point-of-Contact: Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs – Planning & Analysis Policy approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs on March 27, 2001. Key Words: Special accreditation, Program review
