The OMA option is designed to prepare students for careers that use basic business education combined with information systems and critical thinking skills. Operations management is a key part of the every organization. Operations managers are responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the operations function to create quality products or services at a reasonable cost.

Operations Managers manage resources - such as people, time, technology, money, material, supplies, equipment and facilities - to produce outputs in the form of goods and services. The typical operations manager oversees day-to-day operations, is involved in long-term strategic planning and keeps current with the very latest in technology and process innovations. The OMA option at the University of Central Oklahoma is ideally integrated with information systems and technology.
